What is the difference between band and marching band?

Band is taken during the school day as an elective in your academic schedule. Marching Band is a co-curricular activity. You don’t have to march to take band, but you must take band to march unless you are in Color Guard.

Our marching band traveled last spring to Washington, DC where they marched and performed in the National Cherry Blossom Parade. They were the featured band and scored a spot on Good Morning America! Watch the clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOuKOmKIUd8
